About me
Hi,
I am an independent writer, speaker, podcast host, conference organizer, and European traditionalist. That means I celebrate and promote the European ethnic, historical, cultural, and spiritual tradition.
I was born in a small village on the Faroe Islands, a group of 18 islands with a total population of 50,000. The Faroe Islands is a semi-independent part of the Danish Kingdom, populated by Scandinavians at the same time as Iceland in the Viking Age.
When I was a child I moved to Sweden and later to Norway. That is where I have spent most of my adult life, in various parts of Scandinavia.
I have been actively devoted to the cause of European tradition for ca 25 years, since the late 1990s.
Through my involvement in that cause, I have spoken at conferences in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, UK, Finland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, and the Netherlands. In 2020 at a conference hosted by the youth wing of the conservative government party of Estonia, I shared the stage with other respected speakers, including the Estonian Minister of Finance.
Conferences
Since 2015, I have organized and hosted a total of 10 international conferences in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Estonia. In 2017, I founded the organization Scandza Forum as a brand and platform for those events. The themes have focused on metapolitics, culture, sociobiology and history.
- 2015: 2 events (twice in Stockholm)
- 2017: 2 events (Stockholm and Oslo)
- 2018: 2 events (Stockholm and Copenhagen)
- 2019: 3 events (Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Oslo)
- 2023: 1 event (Tallinn)
The events have featured speakers from all over Europe and America.
Speakers include:
Prof. Kevin MacDonald, Prof. Helmuth Nyborg, Mark Weber, Dr. Greg Johnson, Jared Taylor, Guillaume Durocher, Colin Robertson (“Millennial Woes”), Prof. Edward Dutton (“The Jolly Heretic”), Guido Taietti, Martin Lichtmesz, Marcus Follin (“The Golden One”), Mike Peinovich, Mark Collett, Dr. F. Roger Devlin, Ruuben Kaalep, Timo Hännikäinen, Dr. Tom Sunic, Prof. Ricardo Duchesne, and others. Many of them have spoken at several events.
Podcasts and media channels
Since 2017, I have hosted several podcasts and media channels both in Swedish and English.
In 2018, I started the channel Guide to Kulchur (a.k.a. GTK Radio) for promoting discussions about film, literature, philosophy, and history to a “high brow” audience. The name is from a book by American author Ezra Pound. Since the start in 2018, I have produced hundreds of episodes (interviews, discussions, and debates) with a number of popular guests.
Weekly Roundup
Since September 2022, I have hosted a weekly show about current affairs, GTK Radio’s Weekly Roundup. It features American historian and current events expert, Mark Weber. We have so far produced 60 episodes and counting.
Decameron Film Festival
In April, 2020, I started the Decameron Film Festival.
When the first COVID lockdown started and we were forced into isolation, I invited guests to an online film festival. Guests otherwise known for their political commentary (from Left to Right) were invited to discuss a film of their choice. Usually the discussions revolved around cultural themes in the films.
The idea was to: 1. Giving participants and viewers something to do to help them stay sane during the forced isolation. 2. To give the participants a chance to discuss interests they may not otherwise talk about. Especially guests, from various backgrounds, who may not align politically.
The name is from Giovanni Boccaccio’s 14th century novel, the Decameron. As the plague hit Italy, a group of people went into hiding and passed the time telling stories.
The festival turned out to be popular, so I continued it even after the lockdowns. So far, I have hosted four Decameron Film Festivals: in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. The audience is asking for more.
Guests include: Gilad Atzmon, David Cole, Alexander Dugin, Jared Taylor, Mark Weber, Jim Goad, E. Michael Jones, Greg Johnson, Ty E, Henrik Palmgren, Kevin MacDonald, Morgoth, Keith Woods, Millennial Woes, JF Gariépy, Guillaume Durocher, Marcus Follin, Martin Lichtmesz, Semiogogue, Academic Agent, Devon Stack, Survive the Jive, Edward Dutton, John Morgan, Jay Dyer, James Edwards, Mark Collett, Endeavour, Ricardo Duchesne, Thomas777, Port Film Co-op, Ernst Robert Almgren, Blair Cottrell, Imperium Press, and many others.
Debates
I have organized and hosted three debates so far.
- Greg Johnson vs. Jonas De Geer (traditional Catholic from Sweden) about the place of Christianity in Western identity. Stockholm, 2015.
- Jared Taylor vs. E. Michael Jones on the existence and relevance of human races. This debate was scheduled to happen in Zagreb, Croatia, at a Scandza Forum event in May, 2020. Because COVID restrictions prevented travel, I had to host the debate online via video stream. The online debate happened in the fall of 2021.
- E. Michael Jones vs. Greg Johnson on the Russo-Ukrainian War. Hosted online via video stream in the spring of 2022.
Academic studies
I have been the subject of academic studies about thinkers of the Right. These include:
- Contemporary Far-Right Thinkers and the Future of Liberal Democracy
Edited by A. James McAdams, Alejandro Castrillon (Routledge, 2022) - Suprémacistes
Philippe-Joseph Salazar (Plon, 2020)
In other academic studies I have been mentioned but not featured in a prominent position.
Fróði Midjord
Praise for the “Scandza Forum” conferences
“I have participated in several Scandza Forum events over the years. They are always very stimulating, informative, and well run, and I wish it continued success. The Scandza Forum is an important institution on the side of White interests, and I encourage people to support it in whatever way possible.” — Kevin MacDonald, Professor Emeritus of Psychology
“The Scandza Forum is the most well-run Dissident Right conference in Europe, providing a platform for identitarians and conservatives to meet, exchange ideas, and hear speeches from the movement’s best thinkers.” — Colin Robertson, “Millennial Woes,” cultural commentator and speaker
“Fróði Midjord’s Scandza Forum is one of Europe’s most important identitarian metapolitical gatherings, providing fellowship and networking to those who attend and powerful ideas to those watching on the world-wide web. I am continually impressed by the Scandza Forum’s commitment to quality and attention to detail.” — Dr. Greg Johnson, Counter-Currents
“Scandza Forum is a courageous organization that brings the best and most powerful identitarian ideas to increasingly appreciative audiences. I have the highest respect for what Fróði Midjord has achieved.” — Jared Taylor, American Renaissance
“Europe is the sick man of the modern world. The Scandza Forum is part of the cure. Because universities no longer fulfil their role as providers of objective knowledge, international fora of concerned citizens and scientists like the Scandza Forum are absolutely necessary.” — Helmuth Nyborg, Professor Emeritus of Psychology
“Scandza Forum is a true highlight in terms of events and a great way to meet and network with like-minded people. Highly recommended.” — Marcus Follin, “The Golden One,” author, fitness expert and YouTube content creator
“The Scandza Forum is a brilliant way to meet intelligent people who care about the future of the West, as well as to learn about all of the latest Red-pilled academic research. Superbly organized by a based Viking called Fróði (who has somehow traveled forward in time), you will “eat, drink and be merry,” surrounded by people who, like you, want to ensure that tomorrow civilization does not die.” — Prof. Edward Dutton, “The Jolly Heretic”, Independent Researcher
