Background:

The first DECAMERON Film Festival started in April 2020, during the first COVID lockdown.

In the 14th century, Giovanni Boccaccio wrote The Decameron. It tells the tale of ten people who go to a secluded villa outside Florence to escape the Black Death. There they tell stories to pass the time while they are in hiding.

In the same way, we gathered for the first DECAMERON Film Festival to make our time more enjoyable during the COVID lockdown, when we were stuck in isolation.

The event became so popular that it continued year after year, by popular demand, even past the lockdowns.

Now, I am hosting the festival for the fifth year in a row.

(I was planning on starting in October, but I was forced to delay for technical reasons.)

Details:

Starting November 20th, we welcome 21 guests to join us. Each guest has chosen a film to talk about.

That means we will have 1-2 livestreams per day from November 20th until we wrap up around December 8th.
